Thai hospital, first in Asia to do triple organ transplant

Bangkok-based Siriraj Hospital has successfully transplanted heart, liver and kidney transplant. The oldest and largest hospital in Thailand has set a record of becoming the first in Asia to carry out such kind of transplant.

According to reports, the three-organ transplant patient is a 26-year male who has 26-year-old man who has suffered from chronic organ diseases for nearly two decades. The medical team led by Dr Yongyut Sirivatanauksorn, Vice Director of Siriraj Hospital have transplanted donated organs sourced by the Thai Red Cross Society. The 12-hour procedure took place in December last year. The patient, after 83 days of recovery, was discharged in February this year. The hospital’s announcement only came recently after it has finally cleared the patient.
