10x Genomics launches Singapore facility to strengthen supply chain continuity

Biotechnology and life sciences company 10x Genomics (10x) has just celebrated the grand opening of a new manufacturing and commercial facility in Singapore, marking the first of such outside the US. Located in in Solaris@Kallang 164, the new facility provides additional capacity for 10xs’ leading portfolio of consumables to advance human health and serves as the Asia Pacific (APAC) commercial hub. It is part of ongoing investments to build its global operations network and customer support capabilities.

The 10x Singapore site, approx. 53,000 square feet, includes state-of-the art, automated production suites for reagent manufacturing of microscopic chemical objects and a fully equipped laboratory for training customers and partners on all 10xs’ single cell and spatial analysis technologies. The site, which began initial operations in late 2020, also includes a distribution centre, supporting warehouse space and open office areas that encourage collaboration and teamwork.

The company currently employs more than 80 employees in Singapore in manufacturing, corporate functions, and commercial roles.

Singapore was selected for this expansion due to several decisive factors: the Singapore government’s demonstrated commitment to the biotechnology industry and business-friendly practices, world-class manufacturing expertise, and strong talent pool.

Meanwhile, Goh Wan Yee, Senior Vice President and Head, Healthcare, Singapore Economic Development Board, said the Board is committed to supporting innovation and manufacturing activities in healthcare, which will create good jobs and business opportunities in Singapore.
