Healthcare leaders gather to discuss the future of medtech in Singapore

More than 700 healthcare professionals convened at the Suntec International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Singapore for the fourth annual Asia Pacific MedTech Forum, organised by the Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association (APACMed).

APACMed is the regional trade association for the medical devices and in vitro diagnostics industry.

This year’s forum was reported to be the largest and most diverse to date, consisting of global and regional leaders of medical device manufacturers, as well as senior hospital executives, policy-makers, regulators, government representatives and clinicians to exchange learnings and solutions to advance the sector for the benefits of patients in Asia.

APACMed also announced their partnership with MedTech Innovator to launch the first competition in Asia in 2019, MedTech Innovator Asia. The annual competitions aim to accelerate the growth of promising medical device, digital health, and diagnostic start-ups in the region, by identifying potential start-ups and supporting them through mentorship, networking, and funding.

MedTech Innovator competitions and pitch events have been held in the US, Canada, Europe, and Israel with the participation and sponsorship of MedTech Innovator’s corporate partners, including leading healthcare companies Johnson & Johnson, Baxter, Becton Dickinson, Olympus, Amgen, BTG, Fujikura Ltd., and HOYA Corp, NIPRO Medical Corp., and W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc.
