Pelican BioThermal launches new temperature-controlled packaging solution
Minnesota, US-based packaging solutions company Pelican Bio Thermal has introduced a new temperature-controlled shipping solution for the life sciences industry.
The CoolPall Vertos Advance, a new high performance, single-use, passive bulk freight shipping solution, is designed to offer the marketplace an alternative to water-based coolants as well as a further cost-effective option.
It is the latest addition to Pelican BioThermal’s full suite of trusted products and services offering longevity, reusability, and sustainability within the safe transport of pharmaceuticals, tissue, diagnostics/clinical trials, vaccines, and blood samples.
Building on the success of the existing CoolPall Vertos pioneering packaging product range, the new CoolPall Vertos Advance has all the beneficial key features of the original CoolPall Vertos range of single-use bulk shippers, but offers additional advancements including incorporating phase change material (PCM) and vacuum insulated panels (VIPs), which provide fridge hold capabilities for added stability.
The inspiration for the new product addition came from customer feedback highlighting a need for a passive shipper with the ability to be placed in refrigerated storage during transportation. With a volume of 1680L, the newly unveiled CoolPall Vertos Advance ISOPAD has a temperature range of 2-8 degrees Celsius and a duration of up to five days.
CoolPall Vertos Advance’s reliable and robust specifications make it ideal for the rigors of global logistics applications covering routes to emerging markets including Brazil, Russia, Indonesia, and Eastern European destinations where there is an increasing need to be able to put a shipment in refrigerated storage for part of its journey.
