SOUTH KOREA – Supply chain service provider, Marken has opened its first office in South Korea. The office will manage customer service operations and offer local service to its customers who currently operate in the country. Marken currently operates in the country through its partners, managing thousands of shipments per year into and out of the country. This new office has been created recognizing that Korea represents a large and growing base of clinical trials, a growing number of pharmaceutical companies and an impressive number of pharmaceutical manufacturing centers. The new office is managed by Ms. Linda Kim, a specialist in clinical logistics with deep experience in the pharmaceutical services industry.
“We are pleased to finally have a permanent location in Seoul,” said Wes Wheeler, Marken’s Chief Executive. “We have recruited Linda Kim to manage the customer service operations, manage our suppliers and partners in the country and establish Marken’s name as an important international supply chain services company for the pharmaceutical community. We expect to see continued growth in clinical trials in Korea but more importantly we see an opportunity to help our clients with time and temperature sensitive drug product and active ingredient which are biologically manufactured.”
