Well-being coach on how to have disease-free lifestyle

KOTA KINABALU: Health is not defined by the absence of disease, but on the state of the physical, mental and social well-being.

Well-being coach Regina Beh believes that by changing one’s lifestyle, eat the right food and reduce toxicity in the body, they can have a disease-free lifestyle.

Beh said many people visited the doctors when they had symptoms, wanting to have a quick fix or a ‘magic pill’.

“There is no quick fix to replace a balanced diet.

“At the end of the day, if you want to be healthy, you must be willing to improve your diet, change your lifestyle and reduce the toxicity in your body,” she said.

Beh will be holding a seminar, focusing on digestive health and detoxification, in the service apartment at Likas Square on October 24, starting at 7.30pm. Admission is free. Beh has previously condcuted similar seminars in Tawau and Sandakan.

“In today’s information age, people want to be educated, not sold.

“My role is to educate the people on what they can do everyday to prevent lifestyle diseases such as diabetes and heart disease.”

Beh obtained her nutritional adviser qualification from Sanoviv Medical Institute, a holistic healing centre specializing in holistic treatment of cancer, neurodegenerative disease, nutritional medicine and detoxification. She is also a qualified midwife and possesses an operating theatre diploma from the United Kingdom.

Beh’s seminar is suitable for the young and old above 18 years old, as she said, practicing a healthy lifestyle needed to start young to prevent getting diseases at old age.

She will also return to conduct another seminar at the end of November or early December on digestive health and detoxification.

“Eighty per cent of human cells are in your gut,” she said, adding that by improving gut or digestive health, one can improve his or her immune system.

“To me, you are what you eat, digest and assimilate.

“If your gut is covered in filth, toxins are absorbed into the body and as the body tries to get rid of it, it comes out as rashes or eczema,” Beh said.

Hence, she believes that by fixing the digestive health, one can potentially fix a lot of health problems.

She also advised people against drinking alkaline water during meals, as it would interfere with the digestive system. Rather, she advised to have alkaline water between meals.

A cheaper alternative is to drink lemon water, she added.
