What should your Chinese Zodiac organic diet be?

January 23, 2013

SINGAPORE – 2013 is the Year of the Snake and it will arrive on February 4. According to the Chinese Five Element Astrology Calendar, it will be the Year of Water Snake.

And because the colour of water in the Chinese Five Elements system is related to black, it can also be said that 2013 is the year of the Black Snake.

You will be glad to know that most will have better luck this year than in previous years. As the snake is known to contain mainly fire elements, and some metal and earth elements, it is opposite to the water element that 2013 represents.

Hence the well-balanced elements indicate that 2013 will see an improving trend and sufficient resources for new opportunities at prosperity.

Most zodiac signs will see greater opportunities for success and reaching great expectations. However, this also means that one needs to be in the best of health and have the energy to grasp and maximise these openings before they slip away.

As such, eating healthy is a step towards building energy and immunity to do just that. Ever wondered how your Chinese Zodiac affects your food choices?

Here’s an easy-to-follow Chinese Zodiac Dietary Chart that could make the Year of the Black Snake your healthiest year ever.

Tips to choosing organic produce

Organic foods offer a multitude of benefits that help promote good health, but note that to get the most out of your organic products, you should choosing certified products that have been verified to be of certain standards.

One seal that a consumer can look out for is the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) organic seal that ensures that products certified have been strictly regulated to contain at least 95 per cent organically produced ingredients.

USDA Organic products have become much more readily available than before in our local supermarkets and speciality stores such as Brown Rice Paradise, FairPrice Finest, Supernature, Four Seasons Organic Market and Cold Storage.
