MyDoc, AXA Insurance offers live chat, video call consultations via new app
A new health app that easily connects users with Singapore-based general practitioners (GP) for high-quality medical advice via live chat or secure “face-to-face” video call anytime and anywhere in the world has been recently launched.
This first-of-its-kind mobile app, called My AXA Health, is a result of the collaboration of My Doc Pte Ltd (MyDoc) and AXA Singapore (AXA). The Live Doctor Consultation service will initially be rolled out to 5,000 users, comprising of employees and existing AXA policy holders within the next month.
“This partnership has significant positive impact on Singapore’s healthcare industry. We’ve partnered with one of the biggest insurers in Asia to rollout a digital healthcare service that simplifies an integral part of the healthcare process. This provides AXA policy holders with a unique and easy healthcare option available through their existing insurance plan,” said Dr. Snehal Patel, CEO and Co-Founder of MyDoc.
AXA is the first major insurer to join the MyDoc network. There are already plans to deepen the healthcare network in Singapore and expand this unique partnership-based digital healthcare across Asia with other partners.
The uniqueness of the model lies in MyDoc’s ability to seamlessly connect varying healthcare services onto the platform in a cohesive and efficient manner. AXA employees and policy holders will now be able to directly connect with qualified healthcare professionals. Also, with the support of AXA Assistance Medical Desk, they will be able toseek medical advice, obtain a medical prescription or request for a specialist referral through their smartphones.
“With the prevalence of personal mobile devices and increasing reliance on technology, there is a need to fill the gap of being able to gain access to medical advice anytime, anywhere. We found the perfect balance by bringing these two functionalities together with a single, one-stop app that is easily accessible via mobile devices. We are extremely proud to be the first insurer in Singapore and in Asia to introduce the live doctor consultation service, thus cutting out the waiting time at clinics for our customers,” said Leo Costes, Chief Claims Officer of AXA Insurance Singapore.
Asia Pacific is recognized as the fastest growing digital healthcare region in a global industry valued at approximately US$77 billion, and the industry is growing significantly in Singapore.
This partnership signifies the first time a major insurer is offering such a digital healthcare solution to the Singaporean market. “Trust, expertise and reliability are at the core of Health insurance. This innovative service is a new milestone to deliver a better customer experience, and reinforce our role as a Health partner of our customers”, said Andre Czanik, Chief Health Officer of AXA Insurance Singapore.
“We’re witnessing a significant milestone for the digital health industry in Asia, with Singapore leading the way through MyDoc’s partnership with AXA. However, the most important aspect of this partnership is how we will be making quality healthcare simpler and more accessible for consumers. This is our greater mission and together with AXA, we’re bringing forth the digital healthcare revolution to Asia,” said Dr. Patel.
