Chinese celebrity puts malaria on spotlight

Renowned Chinese singer and actress Karen Mok is the latest celebrity to render her gift for singing to join the global fight against malaria.

During a press conference held recently alongside the World Health Summit Regional Meeting-Asia (WHSRMA) in Singapore, the Roll Back Malaria Partnership (RBM) named Mok as their newest “RBM Champion” to help drive information on malaria and ensure the topic remains at the top of key international development agendas, particularly in Asia.

Mok will help in the malaria campaign through her fans and the general public.

As the new RBM Champion, she will engage with leading stakeholders, including political and private sector leaders  to encourage greater participation across the globe. .

The World Malaria Day is commemorated globally every 25th of April.
