Singapore monitors the situation of the new fatal virus

SINGAPORE- Singapore’s Ministry of Health on Tuesday informed the city-state’s hospitals the new unknown virus that are said to be related to the deadly SARS infection, in order to ensure vigilance in any emergencies, according to a report by local media Channel NewsAsia.

The ministry also added that there is no need to take any addition measures unless more confirmed information is revealed by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The WHO said earlier that two cases of acute respiratory syndrome with renal failure had been reported from two persons who had both traveled to Middle East, and a novel coronavirus has been later confirmed relating to the two cases.

Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses which includes viruses that cause the common cold and severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).

Singapore’s ministry also said that they are closely monitoring the situation.
